Arbor ParkA neighborhood park nestled in the northeast corner of the Frankfort Square Park District borders in Tinley Park, Arbor Park was designed through collaborative efforts of park staff and residents who surround the site.  A $400,000 OSLAD grant helped fund the numerous amenities of this beautiful 12-acre park site, formerly named Brookside Glen East Park.

Arbor Park provides fitness, recreation, and educational improvements for our residents.  To enhance exercise opportunities, the park includes a ½ mile asphalt walk/bike trail with nine Life Trail fitness stations, offering a complete low-impact strength and flexibility workout.  In addition, two bocce ball courts and a large playground offer family recreation activities for all ages.  A chess table and picnic pavilion round out the recreational structures on the site.  A natural landscape which includes an arboretum containing over thirty species of trees and shrubs are easily identified through interpretive signage located in the park.  Arbor ParkA pond viewing terrace was also constructed to allow close observation of the native prairie, wetland plantings, and wide variety of waterfowl which often visit the site. FSPD’s commitment to community beautification is evident in the site’s landscaped beds, expansive open play area, aeration fountains, and wetland plantings.  Grant approval culminates three years of planning, including neighborhood input regarding every detail of Arbor Park’s development.
