Parks & Facilities Map
Hunter Prairie Park was named in honor of one of the original settlers of Frankfort Township. Joseph Hunter, Sr. purchased 160 acres of prairie land in 1840, half of which was donated by the Hunter family as a memorial. This park is located adjacent to the new Summit Hill Junior High School, and serves as an added amenity to the school. With its playground, tennis courts, picnic shelter, and full-court basketball, it is also an ideal site to host a weekend picnic for family and friends. Hunter Prairie Park is also home to the Frankfort Square soccer teams. This park, complete with four Widget fields and a full-size soccer field, hosts the majority of community soccer games. Additionally, Hunter Prairie is home to the oldest Pony League field in the district.
