Bike Trail Map (Printable)

Completed in the fall of 2005, the 1.9 mile bike trail connects Island Prairie, Indian Boundary North and South, Kingston, and Hoffman Parks, allowing travelers to enjoy beautiful surroundings while exercising. Beginning at Arran Drive, directly south of the Administration Building, the path winds through the large 35 acre wet-mesic prairie, offering spectacular views of the lake. Nature kiosks will be located along the path at points of interest, such as wetlands and prairies. They will identify wildflowers, wildlife, and birds indigenous to the sites.

Funded mostly through a $200,000 Illinois Department of Natural Resources grant, this path will provide over 60% of park residents with connection to over 75% of all park acreage. This path provides the first leg of a comprehensive trail plan. Long-term goals are the connection to existing trail systems in Brookside Glen, Plank Trail, and the Will County Forest Preserve. Please review the rules posted at the entrances to the trail.

Whether walking, biking, or roller blading, the path is sure to offer a great way to exercise while enjoying the pristine parks along the way.
